Azle, TX – July 15, 2013 – Paragon Sports Constructors is putting the finishing touches on the new running track and synthetic turf field at Azle ISD’s new stadium, including a unique “ghost logo” reading “Hornet Pride” between the numbers and hash marks along the home side.
Surfacing was not the only scope of work performed by Paragon Sports Constructors. Turn-key construction services for the new synthetic turf field and running track will also be performed for the new indoor facility currently under construction on-campus.
“This was a big job with plenty of excavation, stabilization, brand new curbs, drainage, a new running track and a new indoor practice field. The unique lettering is just the final touch to a great project for our company,” Bret Allen, VP of Sales for Paragon Sports Constructors.
With the growing popularity of synthetic turf and the design options it affords owners, new and existing customers are on the look-out for ways to customize their turf field and differentiate from the competition. “Ghost Logos” are one way owners can differentiate. By inlaying a logo or slogan that varies only a few tones from the rest of the playing field it creates a subtle change that does not lend itself to distinction at field level, but rather from farther away, such as the press box or camera platform.
“The University of Arizona’s new field is the only other installation in the country we are aware of utilizing ‘Ghost Letters’ to add to the aesthetic of the playing field,” William Chaffe, President of Paragon Sports Constructors. “It’s definitely not a logo in the traditional sense; this is intended to be subtle, to add to the home-field sense of pride for the customer, a way of ‘branding’ their field.”
