Paragon Sports Constructors was recommended last night to the Fort Bend Independent School District Board of Trustees for the turf replacements at Hall Stadium and Mercer Stadium. After submitting a competitive sealed proposal, Paragon Sports Constructors was ranked first overall for best value to the district based on price, experience, project team, and quality of product.
Work will begin the week of June 4th simultaneously on both stadiums. The projects consist of the replacement of the 10+ year old synthetic turf at Mercer Stadium and the removal of synthetic turf, demolition and rebuild of the base, and installation of a new synthetic turf system at Hall Stadium. Both stadiums will receive Desso iDNA synthetic turf product.
“We’ve seen a trend with buyers becoming more educated when it comes to the quality of various turf products. Ft. Bend ISD has some of the first generation, non infilled, surface draining turf fields so they took the time to research the replacement product and drainage system,” said William Chaffe, President of Paragon Sports Constructors. “At Hall Stadium the district chose to completely remove the asphalt base and crown from the field and install a new vertically draining stone base. This is our second project of this nature this year.”
