Paragon Sports Constructors completed the synthetic turf field renovation of Wichita Falls Independent School District’s Memorial Stadium just in time for the 75th Annual Maskat Shrine Temple’s Oil Bowl this past Saturday.
The popular stadium close to the Texas-Oklahoma border played host to the legendary TEXHOMA All-Star Game once again for its Diamond Anniversary; but this time on a brand new Desso iDNA synthetic turf field constructed by Paragon Sports Constructors.
“The timeline for completion was tight given the scope of work involved,” said William Chaffe, President of Paragon Sports Constructors. “We were able to completely rebuild the field in less than 45 days and keep the legendary game at Memorial Stadium.”
Paragon Sports Constructors scope of work was to remove the existing surface draining synthetic turf, tear out the asphalt base and replace it with a vertically draining stone base and new synthetic turf surface.
“We were given the field upon completion of the UIL Soccer Playoffs on April 16th with a completion date of June 1st, in time for the historic Oil Bowl. It was a challenge we were up for,” said Bret Allen, VP of Sales for Paragon Sports Constructors.
Oklahoma won the 2012 TEXHOMA Classic 30-20 but Texas still leads the series 46-19-1 all-time.
