Paragon Sports Awarded Synthetic Turf Replacement at Butler & Barnett Stadiums for Houston ISD

Paragon Sports Constructors was recommended to the Houston Independent School District Board of Education at their May board meeting to install new synthetic turf systems at HISD’s Butler and Barnett Stadiums.

“Working with the Houston Independent School District on these projects is a privilege. We are thrilled to know that a district as large and sophisticated as HISD chose Paragon Sports for this important multi-field project,” William Chaffe, President, Paragon Sports.

Paragon Sports is set to begin work on the two stadiums mid-June and will complete the projects by mid-August in time for football season. Both stadiums will have the Desso D-Vision synthetic turf system installed. Paragon Sports will self-perform all phases of the civil-construction and turf installation at both stadiums.

“In addition to being low-bid, HISD Athletic Department has spent over a year studying various synthetic turf fields and based on the quality of product and appearance they chose to specify Desso turf,” said Bret Allen, VP Sales & Marketing for Paragon Sports.

“After seeing our installation of the Desso D-Vision system at Crenshaw Stadium for Sheldon ISD, Houston ISD knew that we would provide the highest quality construction and turf for their stadiums as well,” stated Mr. Chaffe.

Desso D-Vision is manufactured by Desso Sports Systems of Belgium. They are an international leader in research and development of high-end synthetic turf products. In addition to their installations for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Desso is a preferred turf provider of FIFA, soccer’s international governing body. Desso products are currently used by the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
